Compare traditional surgery to our minimally invasive procedures:
  • We take many insurance providers and HSA or FSA payment options to cover out of pocket costs and custom payment plans.
  • No waiting weeks or months to have your hammertoes and bunions and the cause of your calluses fixed.
  • Recovery time is shorter and there's no time off your feet with minimally invasive surgery.
  • With minimally invasive surgery, scheduling is faster and both feet can be scheduled on back-to-back days.
  • We only use local anesthesia whereas you'll need to be put under for traditional surgery with general anesthesia.
  • The incision size is smaller and you don't need heavy duty surgical instruments like pins, screws, saws, hammers, etc. with minimally invasive surgery.

Have Questions?

What is minimally invasive bunion surgery?

In minimally invasive foot surgery, a small incision provides access to the surgery site. The entire procedure is performed through an incision of about 1/4″ long. At the conclusion of the surgery, a single stitch closes the opening and a small bandage is applied over the incision.

How long does the surgery take?

Minimally invasive bunion surgery generally takes 30-45 minutes to perform, depending on the specific procedure. The patient will usually be in the surgery center for about 90 minutes, from start to finish; which includes the preoperative preparations and postoperative recovery. Traditional open bunion surgery usually takes longer.

When can I walk and drive?

You'll wear a post-operative shoe for 1-5 weeks after surgery depending on the severity of your condition.Walking and driving is allowed immediately after the operation as long as it is not overdone.

What does the surgery process entail?

1. Consultation - We start with a thorough evaluation, including x-rays, to assess the severity of your bunion and determine the best treatment plan. This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the procedure.
2. Surgery - During the surgery, we use advanced instruments to make three small incisions. Through these, we remove the bunion, realign the bone, and stabilize the foot—all without internal hardware. The entire procedure typically takes less than two hours.
3. Recovery - After surgery, your foot will be wrapped in a soft bandage. Most patients walk out of the operating room and can resume many activities immediately. You’ll receive a detailed recovery plan and follow-up care to ensure optimal healing.

"This was the greatest decision I ever made. I lived with bunion pain for so many years. I heard bunion surgery was so painful I decided I didn’t want to have it. I saw a commercial on TV and it sounded too good to be true. I went for the free consultation and scheduled my surgery right away. I had no idea I could love shoes. I no longer had to buy wide shoes because of bunion pain. One month after my surgery I had the other foot done. It has been a year now and I can’t believe the bunions and pain is gone. I’m happy to report that I’m pain free. Thank you Northwest Surgery Center. Dr. Brant is a life saver and his staff is second to none."

“Hey, World before coming to Northwest Surgery Center my feet were horrible they hurt all the time and I couldn't wear flip flops or any open toes shoes, my feet just were horrible looking. Now, after Northwest Surgery loves the way my feet look, I can wear my lovely shoes and my feet don't hurt anymore, and the downtime was little to none not what the big hospital was telling me it was going to be. I was able to walk after surgery and doing recovery back to work after a very short stay at home. If I had the choice to send someone to have surgery on their feet this will be the place.”

"After seeing the ad on TV, I decided to visit the Northwest Surgery Center. I had noticed a small bunion on my left foot which was raising the toe next to it. Dr. McCarten assured me I could drive myself there, and I would be able to walk in and walk out the same day. The surgery was so easy and that's exactly how it went. After seeing my friends staying off their feet for six to eight weeks I knew I could never do that. This type of surgery was an absolute blessing and I am recommending it to everyone. Thank you to the doctor and staff for giving me a beautiful foot again."
